Summary: Below is my philosophy, educational background, and links that I hope will be helpful to my students, their parents, guardians, family, friends, prospective students,etc.. As I see the unbelievable chalenges that our young people will face I am committed to creating an environment that lets them find their own power to go out on their own. We need them to forge the future of this land, this country. We are ALL in this together.
I have come to Grace High with a long and varied career, loaded with life experiences. A product of the New York City public school system, I have lived in California for 35 years with the last 26 in Sonoma County. I came to becoming a teacher later in life, fulfilling a lifelong desire. I came from a legal career that gives me a unique view of the world as well as skills to relate daily events to real life situations, and how important the best use of language cna change one's life.As a son of immigrant parents my early school years let me see how important education and learning are to one's social status. Both to please my parents and myself, I found that byhanging with the achieving students my work was better and the good grades pleased my folks and I was pretty happy, too! This realization has proved itself in so many ways.
This world we share is so complex and intertwined that many people feel helpless. To make some sense reqires language skills and a basic belief that information and education gives us the power to have some control of our own destiny.
My personal mission is to try and help every student I meet feel the enthusiasm for learning and knowledge that beats in me and has served me so well. With your help as parent, student, friend, colleague I will succeed with most students in this schools goal – Get Ready And Change Education (G.R.A.C.E).
